Matthew is a native Texan, and has lived and worked in the DC since 2000. He holds a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Prairie View A&M University, a Master’s of Social Work degree from Howard University and a Master’s of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Washington University. Matthew has 25 years of experience working with children and families in public and charter educational sectors. He has a passion for helping children and families remove potential barriers to academic success and is excited to be a part of the Two Rivers Community as the Director of Family Engagement. Matthew looks forward to building strong partnerships between parents and educators, and helping families feel they have a seat at the table of their child’s educational journey. Outside of school, Matthew loves collecting art, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
