Two Rivers Arts Integration
Arts education has been essential of Two Rivers since its founding. From preschool through eighth grade, students engage in visual arts, drama, music, and Spanish language classes. Our arts and grade-level teachers collaborate to connect core subjects—ELA, Science, and Social Studies—with creative expression, making learning more meaningful and engaging.
During our Celebration of Learning (CoL) events, students showcase their mastery through visual, dramatic, musical, and dance performances, bringing their learning to life.

Visual Arts
Students explore creativity in a choice-based art studio, experimenting with various materials and techniques. Younger students build foundational skills, while those in grades 2–5 refine their techniques in painting, sculpture, printmaking, weaving, and architectural design. Middle schoolers take a deeper dive into artistic expression, working with diverse media while developing technical and conceptual skills. Every project encourages connection, growth, and creative exploration.

Drama
Drama at Two Rivers is a powerful tool for self-expression and storytelling. Students engage in theater games, improv, puppetry, scene work, creative drama, and even video production. Middle schoolers have the opportunity to participate in our annual Middle School Musical, a cherished tradition that brings students together in performance and production roles.

Music
Our music program encourages students to discover and develop their unique musical voices. Through composition, performance, and collaboration, students explore music theory, history, and a variety of genres. Middle schoolers experiment with digital music production, learn instruments like bass guitar and piano, and dive into West African drumming, gaining hands-on experience with rhythm and craftsmanship.

Dance
Dance at Two Rivers nurtures creativity, coordination, and cultural appreciation through movement. Students explore styles like Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Creative Movement, Ballroom, African Diaspora dances, Indian Classical Dance, and folk traditions. They learn to express themselves, connect with history, and develop confidence through creating, performing, and responding to dance.
A highlight of our program is the annual Latin Dance Competition, a beloved tradition that brings the community together in celebration. Students practice and perform bachata and merengue, showcasing their skills and passion while competing for first, second, and third place. More than just a competition, this event fosters deep learning, connection, and joy.

Musical
Since 2008, our Middle School Musical has provided students with a hands-on theater production experience. With opportunities in acting, stage management, set design, lighting, costuming, and choreography, students develop leadership skills and a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Alumni of our program have gone on to attend prestigious arts schools and even launch professional acting careers.
Since 2008, 14 musicals have been produced. In 2024, the production was moved from the Young Elementary campus to the Atlas Performing Arts Center.
