Dear Two Rivers Families,

Welcome to those of you who are new to us! I hope this summer mailing finds you all staying cool and hydrated in our nationwide heat waves. Our TR Crew have been balancing some well earned rest and relaxation with learning, planning, and preparing our buildings and staff for this upcoming school year. As an EL Education school, you have joined a group of educators who will do all in their power to ensure your child’s success in our three dimensions of student achievement: Master of Knowledge and Skills, Character, and High Quality work.

It has been a joy to reflect on “Year 0” with our Board of Trustees, administrators, and our teacher leaders as we enter Year 1 of our Strategic Plan: Sailing to Success! Some goals and strategies will hit the ground running in August, while others will still be in planning over the course of next year. Having grounded in our EL Education approach, we have a clear roadmap as our improvements to systems for school culture, coaching, and professional learning take shape.

We are elated to be celebrating our 20th anniversary in the education landscape of Washington, DC. This is no small feat in the world of charter schools. Two Rivers has set a high standard of excellence for our students and staff and have made significant impacts on the community in which we serve. Our anniversary celebration kicks off on September 7, 2024 and our optional October Black Tie Gala, promises to keep heads turning all night as we honor those in our community who have supported us in arriving at this milestone. As you continue to enjoy the rest of summer, know that we are nearly fully enrolled for next school year but do still have very few seats open in 5th Grade at 4th St. ES, and Grade 6 at TR Middle School if you know of any interested families!
