Belicia Reaves Welcome Back to School Letter – SY 2025-26
Welcome to Two Rivers!
To all of our new and returning families, welcome and welcome back! We hope this message finds you as excited for the 2025–26 school year as I am. Our TR Crew has been working hard this summer, studying our data and preparing to make this our best year yet.
As an EL Education school, we are committed to helping every student grow and thrive across the three dimensions of student achievement: Mastery of Knowledge and Skills, Character, and High-Quality Work.
Last year, we launched Year One of our Strategic Plan: Sailing to Success. This plan was shaped by the voices of our students, families, and staff, and centers on three clear goals:
- Accelerate academic growth and achievement through high-quality instruction.
- Strengthen our culture of Crew to support the entire Two Rivers community.
- Build sustainable operational and financial systems to secure our future.
We are also “anchoring” this work by engaging families as true partners and by using data to guide and improve all that we do.
As we enter Year Two, we are proud of the achievements and growth made in our internal and external assessment data. From our Preschool and PreK4 expedition presentations to our academic Celebrations of Learning, our continued belief in an Integrated Arts program has led to a prolific MS Film Festival and an epic Spring musical of Moana Jr., which are pushing us closer to achieving our strategic plan goals.
This year, one of our top priorities is student attendance to improve student outcomes. Every day counts, and our leaders and teachers are preparing safe, supportive, and engaging classrooms where every student can succeed. You can support this effort by ensuring your child arrives on time and attends school every day. We also know there will be times when absences are unavoidable. To make reporting easier, we now have one attendance line for all Two Rivers campuses: Call or text: 240-389-0244 or Email: attendance@tworiverspcs.org. Using the attendance line allows us to excuse certain absences and helps us better understand the circumstances that may be affecting our community.
Finally, we’re excited to share that enrollment is nearly full, with just a few seats available in 5th Grade at 4th Street Elementary and in 2nd and 5th Grades at Young Elementary. If you know a family who may be interested, please connect them with Asia Bell at registrar@tworiverspcs.org
We have an incredible year ahead! Please know that my door is always open. I welcome the opportunity to connect at breaves@tworiverspcs.org and look forward to seeing you all soon.
Yours in Crew,

Mrs. Belicia Reaves
Executive Director
