Tamela was born in Washington, DC. She grew up and attended elementary and high school in the city. From an early age, she had a compelling desire to become a teacher. She followed through on her passion throughout her high school, and college careers, often volunteering with various youth programs in the city. Tamela attended George Mason University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education. She continued her studies there and received her Masters in Early Childhood Curriculum and Instruction in 2010.

Prior to joining Two Rivers, Tamela taught Pre-K for five years, and has also served as a mentor teacher. Tamela loves to travel and explore different parts of the world. She also enjoys spending time with her family, discovering new restaurants, and enjoying fun events in the city. Tamela is thrilled to be a part of the Two Rivers community!
