Faculty and Staff

(She/Her) Ms. Matilda was born and raised in Gyeongju, South Korea. Growing up, she always hoped to see more of the world. She always dreamed of exploring new cultures and places. When she turned 17, she decided to follow her passion and moved to America, where she enrolled in Bard College, majoring in history and music. She went on to pursue a master’s degree in social science at the University of Chicago before settling in Washington DC.

While in college, she began to engage in several teaching experiences such as working with younger children as a swim instructor or tutoring middle and high school students in Korea. Her passion for teaching grew every time she shared in her students’ successes. She realized what she learned from herself from these teaching experiences was her determination to pursue her path in professional teaching. She is very thrilled to continue her journey as a teacher with the community at Two Rivers. Ms. Matilda loves to draw comics, and she is currently working on her very first graphic novel that she hopes to publish one day.
