Maria Sylvia Nadres Nye is enthusiastic to work with the Two Rivers team of staff and parents to provide a quality education. She believes that a strong partnership between the school and parents is a critical part of student success. Maria Syliva was born in the Philippines, and her parents instilled in her and her two older siblings the importance of values and a love for education. She graduated from St. Scholastica’s College in the Philippines with a B.A. in Psychology. She also obtained her New York City Public Schools License, her Public School Teacher Certificate, and earned her M.S. in Early Childhood Education with honors from the City College of New York. Her interest in knowing more about children and their rights around the globe led Maria Sylvia to work with the United Nations and UNICEF. Despite the valuable learning that she found in these organizations, Maria Sylvia desperately missed working with children in a classroom setting. When she learned about Two Rivers, its mission resonated with her own values and approach to education. Maria Sylvia enjoys reading, traveling, listening to a wide array of music, and spending time with her family and friends.
