LaToya Martin
(She/Her) LaToya grew up in Ft. Washington, MD, and Alexandria, VA. She graduated from Virginia Union University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. After college, LaToya began working in aftercare in 2013 as a site director for a before and aftercare center with Alexandria Public Schools. This experience sparked her passion for teaching.
LaToya taught Early Childhood Education in Washington, D.C., for six years and worked as a lead teacher. Her dedication to her students led her to earn a master’s in teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. For the past five years, she has been teaching inclusion and recently obtained a certificate in Special Education.
LaToya is passionate about community and collaboration and is eager to meet everyone this year. In her free time, she enjoys nature, cooking, spending time with her family and friends, and caring for her rescue cat, P.
