Kierstin is a second-generation special education teacher. After growing up in Fairburn, Georgia, she earned her M.S.E. in K-12 Collaborative Special Education from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
Before relocating to D.C., she worked in public school systems and a private non-profit center, with students ranging from birth to 3 years of age and middle schoolers. Drawn to Two Rivers by the culture of teachers as “crew, not passengers,” Kierstin is passionate about developing her students’ self-advocacy skills.
In her free time, she enjoys learning Italian, reading in Lincoln Park (favorite author: Brandon Sanderson), and running the Anacostia River Trail with her husband.
