Claire was born and raised in Florida and earned her Bachelor’s in Biology from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA.
Claire’s love of teaching began in the U.S. Peace Corps, where she taught Biology and Civics at a secondary school in Tanzania. During this time, Claire helped students build connections and community, coaching the school’s first girls’ soccer team and establishing a student-run school library. She went on to earn her Master’s in Public Administration from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and worked with organizations focused on youth and education. Claire also worked at the Federal Emergency Management Agency for over ten years, leading strategic planning and community preparedness initiatives. These experiences deepened the flexibility, creativity, and compassion she now brings to her students at Two Rivers.
Claire lives in DC with her husband and daughter, and loves spending time with them reading, biking, and baking together.
