Bahar Cetinsoy-Crawford, a certified Drama teacher, completed her B.A in Teaching English to non-native speakers. While teaching English in a private school in Istanbul, she ran the English Drama Club where she observed the impact that theatre made on her students. This experience inspired her to complete her master’s degree in the Educational Theatre Program at the City College of New York. Upon completion of her graduate degree, she worked as a teaching artist through various cultural theater organizations and taught drama in public schools all across New York City. Besides her teaching career, she acted in the short film “I am an immigrant” directed by NYC-based independent director & choreographer, Yara Travieso. She also assisted Travieso on No More Shimmering Cowboys, a site-specific theatre piece that took place in NYC’s High Line in a six-block immersive performance. She is passionate about creating spaces that foster connection, communication, authenticity, and empathy through drama. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
