Ayawnie is a native Washingtonian educated in the District of Columbia Public School system. Ayawnie loves working with young kids and is committed and dedicated to supporting them socially, emotionally, and academically. With over 10 years of experience, she is currently working towards earning her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Thus far, Ayawnie has earned her CDA (Child Development Associate) certification, completed her 90 hours training, and is CPR certified.

Ayawnie was introduced to the field of education by first working with Bright Horizons, then worked for over 8 years with at risk infants and toddlers at the House of Ruth (Washington DC Chapter). Two Rivers recognized Ayawnie’s passion for working with children and invited her to join their teaching community as an Assistant Teacher. Ayawnie is thrilled to join the Two Rivers family and is looking forward to contributing to the overall goal of providing a quality education to our young scholars.

When Ayawnie is not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, volunteering in her community at an outreach center designed to help at risk teens become productive members in society, dancing, and attending family gatherings.

Ayawnie is excited about the upcoming school year at Two Rivers Public Charter School. It’s going to be an awesome year!
