Allegra was born and raised in Washington DC. She is the second of eight children, and a mother of two grown children. Growing up in DC she attended and graduated from Cardozo High School (GO CLERKS!!). Allegra’s love for children started when she worked for the DC summer youth program as a teen and after becoming a mom she accepted a job working as a parent partner in the DC Public School System.

She later started working at The First Baptist Church Child Development Center. She spent over 18 years there while she continued to educate herself and earned her preschool CDA. During her time at the center she used her creativity and imagination to encourage the children in her preschool classroom environment to become independent thinkers, thus preparing them for the elementary school environment.

As her love and passion for teaching children hasn’t changed, Allegra has returned to the school system. She has passed her Paraprofessional Assessment and is now ready to continue to do what she loves. Allegra is very excited to join the Two Rivers family.
