Kristal comes to Two Rivers PCS as an experienced special education teacher from Prince George’s County Public Schools where she worked in a middle school program for students with emotional-behavioral disabilities as a math instructor for 15 years. Kristal earned her bachelors degree in Elementary education at Goshen College in Indiana. She received her masters in special education from George Washington University in a program for Seriously Emotionally Impaired Adolescents. She has led staff professional development, mentored teachers in math classrooms, supervised intern teachers in her special education classroom, and provided model lessons. Kristal is eager to work in a smaller, more intimate, joyful setting that is near her home in South East Capital Hill. She is passionate about the fun and sense of wonder found in learning and in walking with young people and their families through the special education process.

In her free time, Kristal enjoys traveling with her husband, biking, hiking, and the beach. She has 2 adult children whom she loves to visit in Michigan and Colorado.
