Faculty and Staff

Khizer Husain is the Director of External Relations and in this role helps tell the Two Rivers story, promote the model within the education community, cultivate relationships with external organizations, oversee placement of our alumni, and fundraise from corporations and other parties. Khizer came to Two Rivers as an Education Pioneers Fellow in 2013, attracted by the school’s mission and diverse student body and faculty. Previously, Khizer spent fifteen years in the health sector–at the medical device company, Medtronic, then as a consultant at The Advisory Board Company before freelancing in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa. Khizer also served as the president of a national health professional nonprofit.

Khizer earned his bachelor’s degree in honors biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. On a Fulbright Scholarship, he attended the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics and Political Science for a master’s degree in global health policy. He lives in Silver Spring with his wife, Zuleqa. He enjoys writing, traveling, and organizing family reunions.
