Katie Dunn

Lead Teacher | 4th Street ES
3rd

Katie is a born and bred Hoosier who came to Washington, D.C. over ten years ago to study at the George Washington University. In 2011, she graduated from GW with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs with a minor in Chinese Language and Literature. Following college, Katie joined City Year, an AmeriCorps funded volunteer program that gave her her first classroom experience. That is where she fell in love with teaching, and has been in a classroom ever since!

Growing up, Katie was taught the importance of education, hard work, determination, responsibility and kindness. As a teacher, she aims to instill those same values in her students. She hopes to inspire her students to become life-long learners who give back to their community.

In her spare time, Katie loves to make delicious baked goods for her friends and family–chocolate chip cookies are her specialty! She also loves to try new restaurants, read suspense novels, eat ice cream, go to the gym, and take naps.
