Blanca obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University’s School of Communication and Theater. She relocated with her family to the DMV area 21 years ago. Her commitment to her Hispanic heritage background as a native speaker of Puerto Rican origin led her to explore summer immersion programs for her children. This sparked a natural interest in teaching Spanish as a new career.
She brings 15 years of classroom teaching experience in both private and public schools and is passionate about sharing her cultural experiences with students in the classroom. For Blanca, this is the right time to teach Spanish and help students develop an awareness, intercultural understanding, compassion and respect for the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking countries. Although this is the first EL school she has had the pleasure of working at, she brings knowledge of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program as a Spanish Teacher formerly working at Roberto Clemente Middle School, a Montgomery County Public School.
She is excited about helping students learn and practice their language learning skills. She finds great joy to see how language acquisition impacts her students’ self confidence, growth, development and compassion for others . In her spare time, she enjoys reading and listening to inspirational books and music and spending time with her family.
