We're Still Recruiting Gala Volunteers!

The Framing the Future Gala is the school's largest fundraiser that brings in over $140,000 to support our Arts Program, and the success of the event is powered by our amazing parents and families. We're still recruiting committee leads and members to assist with these committees: Featured Artists, Auction, Student Art, Classrooms, and Event Design. Read more about these committees and others at tinyurl.com/FTFFlier1819.

If you're interested in making this year's Framing the Future Gala on March 29, 2019 the best fundraiser yet, email framing@tworiverspcs.org and join #TeamGala today!

Expeditionary Learning Info Night

Do you want to know more about why we teach through expeditions at Two Rivers? Are you interested in learning about what an expedition is? If so, please join us for our Expeditionary Learning Info Night, where you will be able to learn more about EL Education and our expeditions and get to interact with teachers and administrators from across Two Rivers. The event is Thursday, October 11th from 6:00 to 7:30pm at 4th Street. We hope to see you there!

Partnering with Mentors, Inc.

One of our greatest strengths as a school is our community. In order to support our 8-12th graders, we are partnering with DC-based Mentors, Inc. Mentors, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides mentoring and career/STEM exploration to public and charter 8-12th graders in Washington, D.C. and improves graduation rates and students' outlook for the future. Mentors build relationships with their proteges, help them explore life's options, and advocate for them. If you would like to volunteer to be a mentor or if you would like more information, please contact Khizer Husain, Director of External Relations (khusain@tworiverspcs.org).

Time to Sign-Up for Conferences!

Family Conferences are coming up and will take place on Wednesday, October 31 through Friday, November 2. All families are invited to select a time slot for their conference using an online scheduling system called My Conference Time. Sign-up online for your conferences from October 8 through October 22. To sign up, visit myconferencetime.com/tworiverspcs or myconferencetime.com/tworiversyoung, select your child's teacher or crew leader, and click on the time that best fits your schedule. Please note that this sign-up is specifically for family conferences and not for requesting meetings with teachers at any other time.

For families with more than one child at the same campus will have the option to sign up for multiple conferences at once to ensure that you coordinate schedules. Families requiring an interpreter will have their conferences coordinated by the school.

Please sign up early as conference times are available on a first come, first served basis. You will not have to create an account in order to sign up, but if you

choose to enter your email address, you can receive email confirmations or correspondence from your student's teacher. Please sign up for your conference time by Monday, October 22. Any families who have not selected a time by the deadline will automatically be placed into an available time slot.

Free (and Easy!) Opportunities to Help Raise Money for the PSA
In previous years, Two Rivers families have earned more than $2000 for school and PSA activities by simply grocery or online shopping. Help the school earn money again this year with Harris Teeter, Giant, and Amazon and by clipping Box Tops from participating products. All proceeds are split between the Young and 4th Street campuses. Don't hesitate to ask grandparents, other family members, or neighbors, too! Every little bit helps.

Harris Teeter's Together In Education: Families must re-link their VIC cards each year! Please re-link your VIC card today. You can do so at the store, online (harristeeter.com/together-in-education; search for school code 7519), or by emailing the last name associated with your account, VIC card# (first 11 digits), and the phone number associated with your account to treasurer@tr-psa.org.

GIANT A+ For Kids: Link your bonus card, which can be done either at the store or online by registering your card at giantfood.com/school-rewards.

Amazon Smile: Go to smile.amazon.com and select Two Rivers PCS. After you sign up, just shop at smile.amazon.com to earn money for Two Rivers. You must shop at smile.amazon to earn points.

Don't Forget Your Box Tops
: Clip Box Tops from participating products, such as Ziploc, Kleenex, Motts Applesauce, and Betty Crocker. Each BoxTop is worth $0.10, so the rewards add up quickly! You can turn in Box Tops to the Box Tops boxes located in the lobby. The Two Rivers PSA can also earn an additional 5 bonus Box Tops when you subscribe to the BoxTops email newsletter. You'll receive coupons for Box Tops products, free samples, updates on our school's earnings progress, and more. Sign up now at BTFE.com/signup. Be sure to enter our Box Tops ID number (959182) so our school receives credit for the bonus Box Tops.

Picture Day is Coming!

Two Rivers' annual Picture Day is on Monday, October 22, and we will partner with LifeTouch Photography to offer individual and class portraits to families. Sibling packages are not available. On Picture Day, students are not required to wear their Two Rivers uniform.

Please go online to order packages or complete the order form attached to the Trib. Please send your completed order form and payment with your child on Picture Day. LifeTouch accepts payments in the form of cash, check (made payable to LifeTouch), and credit card. To pay by credit card prior to Picture Day, visit mylifetouch.com and enter Two Rivers' Picture Day ID (MJ217755Q0) and your child's first name.

Please note: if you choose to pay with cash, you must send exact change with your order form. Lifetouch and Two Rivers will not be able to make change, so plan ahead!

Questions about Picture Day? E-mail Ms. Cynthia (cpope@tworiverspcs.org)!
